Once you’ve cleansed your crystals, charging them with your intent is easy. I usually do the two processes at the same time. Once the crystal is cleansed of outside energies that do not serve my purpose, I simply say out loud the new properties or intended use for my crystal. Sometimes I charge the crystal within a Magic Circle. In that case, I will ask the Guardians of the Watchtowers, or the corresponding Elementals, for their blessing in charging the crystals. If I don’t have a specific use for the crystal or spell I intend to do, I usually read out loud the properties most commonly associated with the type of stone I am charging.
For example, if I am charging a piece of Amethyst, I might say:
“I charge this Amethyst with the powers of enhanced visualization and metaphysical abilities. May you open the third-eye and prevent psychic attack. Harmonizing Amethyst, may you link the emotional with the physical and the mental. May this crystal encourage prophetic dreams and bring understanding to them.”
If there are any physical benefits that I may hope to gain from the crystal, I might say those properties out loud as well.

I don’t always charge crystals within a Magic Circle. Personally, I believe intent is the key. If I don’t have the privacy or time to prepare a circle, I may simply do the charging in a quiet room of the house (as funny as it sounds, I often do it in the bathroom where I know I won’t be interrupted). I hold the crystal in my hand, close my eyes and ground and center my mind. I then say out loud, or in my mind, the attributes I want to associate with the crystal.
If I have a specific use for a crystal, say I want to use the Amethyst specifically for dream recall, then I focus my intent on that use only. I spend a moment visualizing what I want it to do.
When I have completed the charing of the crystal, I say the words,
“This is a crystal is of light and love. It acts to support my highest good. So mote it be.” (or Amen).
Charging crystals with your intent is very easy and only takes a couple of minutes. If I haven’t used a crystal in a very long time, am modifying its intent, or if I can’t recall what I charged it for in the first place, I cleanse it again and recharge it. Also, if I have used a crystal in healing, or have loaned it to someone, I cleanse and recharge the crystal again.
